About Me

I’m Jen, an England based book blogger and reviewer. I started off on Booktube in 2019 and I am now based on jenofbooks.com. I love reading Young Adult Fantasy, among other genres. I also enjoy photography, travel, and creative writing.

I am happy to accept books for review, if you have a book you would like me to review please contact me at jenofbooks@gmail.com

Policy

Thank you for taking the time to read my review policy.

All books that I accept will receive an honest review and will include my personal opinion.

I always aim to give a balanced review, if I did not enjoy a book, I will include both positive and negative aspects. Books will be reviewed on a 1 to 5 Star scale.

If I accept a book for review but I do not finish reading it because the book wasn’t for me, then I will let you know and a review will not be posted.

If I am sent a book for review, there is no guarantee that you will receive a review, but I will let you know if I decide not to. If you send me a review request, there is also no guarantee that I will accept.

I am happy to receive both e-books compatible with kindle, and physical copies.

Genre

Below are the genres that I enjoy reading and will consider for review:

  • Young Adult Fantasy
  • Young Adult Dystopian
  • Urban Fantasy
  • Historical Fiction
  • Vampires
  • Magic Realism

Time Scale and Location

If the book is an advanced copy, reviews will be posted on my blog on the release date. Please let me know if you would prefer I post in advance.

I aim to review a book within three months of accepting it for review, unless the release date is longer than three months away. The review will be posted for the release date.

Reviews will be posted on jenofbooks.com, Goodreads and Amazon. It will also be posted on Netgalley if this is where I received the book originally. The review will also be shared on Twitter, and on occasion, Instagram, though this is not guaranteed.

An Example My Reviews

Review: Caraval by Stephanie Garber

I was swept away into this book. Stephanie Garber describes this rich world of magic and intrigue that has so much depth. It has hints of a dark fairytale and from the very first page to the last, I was hooked on every word.
